RESUMO:
This dissertation is the result of the study carried out in the line of research Teacher Training, Policies and Pedagogical Practices, of the Postgraduate Program in Education – Masters in Education, at the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), linked to the Research Group Access and Permanence in Higher Education (GPAPES), whose theme refers to the permanence of students with disabilities entering Higher Education, having as its locus the UNEMAT campus in Cáceres-MT, anchored in the theoretical contributions of Boaventura (2019); Freitas (2010) Gamboa (2012), Lima (2011), Leite (2005), among others. The research sought to answer the following problem: How do permanence policies within the scope of Unemat enable the permanence of disabled academics at the “Jane Vanini” University Campus entering through the PCD quota system? Thus, the main objective of this work was to analyze the permanence of students at the “Jane Vanini” University campus UNEMAT/Cáceres-MT, entering the Disability Inclusion Program (COTAS) in 2019, seeking to understand their trajectories during the course. . The research has a qualitative approach with an emphasis on the perceptions of the interviewed subjects when analyzing the data and information collected about their trajectories. Data collection was carried out at the Unemat Academic Secretariat and, when necessary, we used the Academic System (SIGAA). The mapping of Unemat's access and permanence policies was carried out based on documentary sources in the Unemat Dean's Offices. The students' perceptions were collected through semi-structured interviews. The research was organized into five complementary stages that helped in the data collection process, initially identifying students who entered through PCD quotas in 2019 to monitor their trajectories; the mapping of UNEMAT's Stay Policies was carried out; the next stage was the preparation of a Production Balance in the CAPES Bank of Theses and Dissertations on the topic; the fourth stage was to conduct interviews with students entering in 2019 under the PCD quotas at the Jane Vanini/Cáceres-MT Campus and, subsequently, we carried out the systematization, organization and analysis of the data. The results indicated that 07 (seven) students entered in 2019 under the PCD quotas, of which 01 (one) dropped out of the course and 01 (one) believes that they do not qualify as disabled. This study is ongoing and the results should be presented during qualification.
