RESUMO:

The general objective of this research is to analyze the main private actors who worked with the state education system of the State of Mato Grosso according to the interests of venture philanthropy/venture philanthropy or philanthropic capitalists, in the period from 2005 to 2018. The data for analysis were obtained from the results of the research of an inter-institutional nature, carried out within the scope of GREPPE under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Theresa Adrião: “Analysis of the mapping of strategies for the privatization of basic education in Brazil: actors, programs and consequences for the public education” funded by Fapesp, Process 2019/12230. It is assumed that the practice of risk philanthropy in Brazil is financed through private social investment through partnerships and agreements between foundations/institutes and between them and governments that start to obtain advantages for businesses in the educational field from the operationalization of their programs with public education systems (ADRIÃO, 2015; 2018; 2021). This dissertation adopts a qualitative approach, based on documental research in primary and secondary sources on institutional websites. Based on theoretical studies and data analysis, for this qualification, the profile and performance of Fundação Victor Civita - FVC is presented, identifying it with the practice of venture or philanthropic philanthropy (Beshoop and Green, 2008) with a view to the relationship between donations to educational programs, with the public school system, and the relationship of these programs with the publishing sector businesses, especially Grupo Abril. It is identified that FVC works in a network with private organizations in order to influence public policies in Brazil, which also allows FVC to expand its field of business. The research presented is in progress.
