RESUMO:

Education is a permanent and continuous process that begins in the family, extends to school, and permeates throughout one's life. Therefore, the initial exposure to the inherent standards of education is developed within the family. Throughout their academic life, students encounter a wealth of information that guides them in societal living. When considering the full development of children and adolescents, it is also crucial to address issues related to the topic of sexuality. Thus, the objective of this document is to analyze how the topic of sexuality is presented in the structured material provided by the Department of Education of the State of Mato Grosso for 8th-grade students in elementary school, based on competencies 5, 6, and 7 outlined in the National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC) and Regional Curriculum Guidelines (DRCs). The materials investigated will span from 2013 to the current year of 2023 for a comparative analysis between the structured material and the Natural Sciences textbooks for 8th-grade students in elementary school. This research is qualitative, and the methodology involves content analysis through the examination of printed or digital texts and documents. The expected outcomes include achieving a comparative analysis and a critical examination that can, in the future, lead to the development of educational materials that encompass adolescent sexuality in a more inclusive manner, challenging some taboos and paradigms and increasing the potential for greater effectiveness in the teaching and learning process for students regarding the topic of sexuality.
