RESUMO:

Assistive technologies (ATs) propose the development of strategies, methodologies and/or use of resources that promote interdisciplinarity, as well as the inclusive participation of people with disabilities. In this context, the present research aimed to analyze the use of assistive digital technologies, by teachers in Tangará da Serra- MT, aimed at teaching deaf students. In this way, we sought to answer the following guiding question: “How does the use of assistive digital technologies, by teachers in the classroom, contribute/transform the teaching and learning process of deaf students, during Science and Mathematics classes? To answer this question, in methodological terms, a research with a qualitative approach was used, regarding exploratory objectives, and regarding technical procedures, a participatory research. As a theoretical reference, the guidelines and regulations that govern inclusive teaching and the use of digital technologies were taken as a basis. As well as the authors who point out assistive technologies for students with disabilities, emphasizing the benefits of ATs in the teaching and learning process for students with deafness. For data production, a questionnaire was used, with open and closed questions, with 9 Basic Education teachers, from the municipality of Tangará da Serra- MT, who teach Science and Mathematics classes, for deaf and/or disabled students. hearing deficiency. Participants were coded as: P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, to guarantee anonymity. As for the analysis of the collected data, it resulted in their categorization, based on context units, as proposed by Bardin (1977). Therefore, we opted for semantic categorization, that is, thematic categories according to the objectives of the study and the questionnaire applied, resulting in: Category 1: Use of Assistive Technologies; Category 2: Teaching strategies and personalization and Category 3: Training and perspectives. The profile of the research participants was: in terms of age, around 33 to 53 years old.Regarding academic training, 3 (three) have a master's degree and 6 (six) have a specialization. The results point to the importance of using technologies as pedagogical tools for building knowledge and appropriating teaching in the process of including deaf students in the regular classroom. From the analysis of category 1 - Use of Assistive Technologies -, it appears that teachers, within the possible limits and despite some difficulties, are able to make use of some resources; As for the analysis of category 2 - Teaching strategies and personalization -, it is possible to reveal that the research participants related a degree of importance to the adaptation of resources, that is, the personalization of assistive technologies for the teaching process of deaf students, and finally, when analyzing category 3 - Training and perspectives -, it is clear that teachers, subject to this, reported that training is necessary so that the use of technologies can actually be used as tools that provide the teaching process for students with deafness. Therefore, assistive technologies play a transformative role in education, overcoming historical barriers and promoting communication, inclusion and learning. However, the teacher plays an active role in promoting affection and building student confidence in their learning journey.
