RESUMO:

Chemistry teaching from the perspective of inclusion of deaf students is challenging, as the peculiar language of Chemistry lacks symbology in Libras. And the inclusion of the hearing impaired begins in the classroom, with the school assuming the role of integrator. Currently, mobile applications and digital technologies have significantly impacted the way information is produced and shared instantly. As a result of this technological advance, this study aimed to develop an application on laboratory glassware to aid in teaching deaf students. The selection of glassware was carried out from the structured material (handouts) made available to students in the state of Mato Grosso, entitled Novo Ensino Médio, which presents contents contemplating the BNCC. Liah's avatar animation was used with Blender Software and Android Studio. The application built during this research, presents the following components: Presentation Screen, Opening screen, Presentation of the avatar Liah in Libras, List of glassware in Portuguese, Interpretation of Liah in Libras of the glassware, Description of the glassware in Portuguese, Description of the glassware in L2, in addition to presenting totally intuitive navigation buttons for the best learning of the deaf student. The application was evaluated by professors of Chemistry at DRE-Polo Matupá. During the interview, the teachers presented suggestions for improving the application, most of which were aimed at the hearing public and not deaf students, the focus of the application. The application has the potential to help the process of teaching Chemistry to deaf students, since the use of different resources can favor the participation and interest of students in the proposed activities, as well as contribute to the understanding of the explored themes. It is up to teachers to explore this tool for the benefit of their classes and learning, especially for deaf students, who face major barriers with regard to the content presented.
