RESUMO:

Thinking about new teaching concepts proposes a pedagogical model that brings the process of construction of scientific knowledge closer to the reality of students and proposes the development of a human vision of science, technology and society. With the research, we aim to analyze the impacts that experimentation, used as a pedagogical practice, interferes in the assimilation and learning of science contents, through experimental activities for students of the Fifth (5th) year of Elementary School at Escola Municipal Paulo Freire de Ribeirãozinho-MT. Therefore, the guiding question of the research is: how are the contents proposed by the curriculum being worked and what are the difficulties in appropriating experimentation? To achieve the objective and answer the questions discussed for this work proposal, we used qualitative research and data collection took place from February to July of the year 2022, we used semi-structured questionnaires, applied to students and professor who teaches the discipline of Science in the fifth year of Elementary School at the Paulo Freire School in the Municipality of Ribeirãozinho-MT; field diary with notes of the activities developed. Preliminary results show that when introducing experimentation as a pedagogical practice, the student is able to recognize that science teaching has an important role in the construction of meaningful learning, making evident the need to consider this practice as fundamental for teaching. Thus, this study leads to a reflection on the teacher's pedagogical practice, which especially values the applicability of a curricular approach strategy, which deals with research-based teaching. It is expected to contribute to teaching and learning, awakening the use of innovative practices that meet the needs of Basic Education students, strengthening knowledge in favor of improving the quality of education.
