RESUMO:

This research aimed to study the training needs of teachers who teach mathematics in the final years of Elementary School in State Schools located in the municipality of Barra do Bugres. Methodologically, an investigation of a quantitative approach was carried out, with the Survey method, in which data were collected through an online questionnaire, using Google Forms, applied to a sample of 20 Mathematics Teachers, in a universe of 25 The data were analyzed using Basic Statistics techniques (graphic representation, percentage analysis and frequency analysis). Research participants were invited by email and also by WhatsApp. This investigation was conducted with the following question: what are the training needs of teachers who teach mathematics in the final years of Elementary School at State Schools in Barra do Bugres, which serve as an indicator to model a proposal for continuing education? The results demonstrate that the teachers participating in the research present needs for continuing education, in response to the research problem, which can be observed in the following descriptors that constitute indicators of such training needs: dissatisfied with the continuing education developed at school (12); difficulties in teaching math content in the 8th and 9th grades (f9 for each); difficulty in using RTD (software f19, applications f17, digital whiteboard f17, recording of video lessons f17); Project Pedagogy method (f18); use of Learning Theory (f16); production of teaching materials (f18); production of adapted teaching material (f19) and difficulties in teaching mathematics to students with special needs (f20). Thus, we understand that the aspects highlighted in this research can contribute to guide the planning of the future continuing education of teachers who teach mathematics in the final years of elementary school in the municipality of Barra do Bugres-MT.
