POLINICAL FEASIBILITY AND DETERMINATION OF THE GENETIC POTENTIAL OF POPULATIONS OF
Crotalaria spectabilis

PALAVRAS-CHAVES:
variability, palynology, homogeneous lineages

PÁGINAS: 17
GRANDE ÁREA: Ciências Agrárias
ÁREA: Agronomia
RESUMO:
Crotalaria spectabilis has been widely used in intercropping systems as fertilizer green or rotation with various
crops. However, research involving biology or genetic improvement of the species is still scarce. This project
aims to study pollen viability, as well as evaluating the natural variability of C. Spectabilis aiming to provide
information for the species and choice of homogeneous strains superior to the conventional standard.
The work will be developed at Embrapa Agrosilvipastoril, located in Sinop-MT, in the years 2020 and 2021.
For evaluation of pollen viability will be studied the meiotic index and percentage of pollen viability by means
of palynology and calorimetry. As for the genetic potential of populations, 30 varieties from different parts of
the Brazilian Cerrado will be sown in DBC, with two repetitions, the witness being a local variety in the region.
the variables evaluated will be dry matter, size, flowering time, drought tolerance, dehiscence of seeds, health
and diseases. Characteristic analyzes will be performed for each character considering the population effects as
being random estimating the variance and heritability. Such results will allow us to understand the pollen
viability of the species and identify at least one population of C. spectabilis with a potential higher than the
witness to obtain lineages.
