This dissertation is focused on the area of History Teaching and is part of the requirement of the Professional Master's Program in History Teaching (ProfHistória). The research aims to analyze the development of the workshop class in History Teaching, based on the conception of Local History, from the perspective of the organization and production of students' historical knowledge and has as its object the teaching and learning relationships in History Teaching. History and the scope of Local History in Basic Education. To achieve the objective of this dissertation, the classroom was the locus of research carried out in the History discipline with two classes that make up the 9th year of Elementary Education at the Deputado João Evaristo Curvo State School, located in the municipality of Jauru, west of Mato Grosso. From the analysis of the results obtained from carrying out the diagnosis, it was possible to verify that the school had some weak points that needed to be improved and one of them was the low level of school performance that was not in line with the goals established by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The teaching of Local History, as a field of knowledge and learning strategies, allows working on different levels of social, economic and temporal scale of analysis. It is about empowering the student in the community in which he lives and developing his historicity, to the same extent that it organizes him in the field of production of historical knowledge, historiography of a small space, intending to create a plural history, which privileges groups up to then historically made invisible such as women, black people, indigenous people, among others. Different mediations are produced by the student subject, inquiring into historical reality, in the same direction in which he establishes himself as a subject of history through bonds and experiences, through the marks and events of space-time and time-space of his experience. The place of learning in this aspect implies different mediations of time and “places of memory” as conditioning factors for students’ historicities.
