RESUMO:

This study aimed to understand the challenges faced by Ensino Médio students at the Kurâ-Bakairi indigenous state school in the city of Paranatinga, Mato Grosso. The idea behind this work is fundamental for both school education and social life, with the aim of valuing the Kurâ-Bakairi language. In order to identify and describe the importance of using neologisms in the language of the people, and to innovate words borrowed from Portuguese, in the hope of increasingly strengthening the use of names for home appliances in the native language, the research has been collecting information from young people and elders in the village, as well as to encourage this practice of naming objects, and to create their own names for things that are not part of our culture, but that are now part of our daily lives.
