REDE FEMININA DE COMBATE AO CÂNCER DE SINOP:
a discursive construction
Discourse Analyses; Rede Feminina de Combate ao Câncer de Sinop (REFFECS); discourse; meaning effects.
This work discusses about Rede Feminina de CombateaoCâncer de Sinop (REFECCS) from the perspective of a discursive construction of the actions carried out by it. REFECCS is a pioneer philanthropic association that, since 2012, works directly with patients diagnosed and/or undergoing cancer treatment in the northern region of Mato Grosso. The investigation aims to analyze the meanings produced in discourses practiced in different subject positions, considering their historical process in REFECCS. This way, it seeks to understand the effects of meanings in the work of its members in their different subject positions, whether of those who help and/or those who are helped to understand the role of the association in the social space of this city along with the public policies. Through the research proposal, this study uses the theory of materialistic Discourse Analysis, the French line, with the contributions of Michel Pêcheux, its founder, and Brazilian researchers such as Eni Orlandi and Suzy Lagazzi, from Unicamp, Freda Indursky and Maria Cristina Leandro Ferreira, from UFRGS, and BethâniaMariani, from UFF. The main conceptual notions were discursive formation, subject, ideology, discourse, meaning effect, subject position, identification, counteridentification and disidentification. The corpus included documents, reports, photographs, images, testimonies, projects, and campaigns carried out by REFECCS during its ten years of existence, which summon memory and, in the process of meaning, enable interpretation. This research also had twenty-nine semi-structured and authorized interviews conducted between August 2021 and January 2022, in person, with recordings and transcripts. The results indicate the discoveries in the presence of numerous discourses that circulate in this context, such as those of political, institutional, family, medical or religious content, which refer to REFECCS as an association of relevance to cancer patients, since its construction is due to the lack and failure of a more active and targeted public policy. REFECCS members define themselves as members of a family, creating activities that favor the construction and reconstruction of fissures that exists during the healing path, thus forming a link between the subject position of the patient and subject position of health, to (re)signify their effects.
