CONTINUING EDUCATION: POSSIBILITIES AND LIMITS OF THE PEDAGOGICAL USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES OF TEACHERS OF THE EARLY YEARS IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS
Continuing Training. Video Production. Digital Technology. Active Presenter Software.
This reseach aimed to comprehend how a video production contributes in the elementary school teachers continuing training, specially in mathematics teaching, by using Active Presenter software to develop the skills to make videos. The question that triggered that research investigation was: How a teacher continuing training focused on video productions may contribute to the skills development of elementary school teachers in their school mathematics teaching? To answer this question, it was methodologically adopted a qualitative research paradigm. The research data productions were made during a continuing training where elementary school teachers from Tangará da Serra, state of Mato Grosso, use Digital Technologies in their video productions according to the document “Matriz Competências Necessárias para o Uso Pedagógico das Tecnologias Digitais” of the civil society organization “Centro de Inovação para a Educação Brasileira (CIEB)”. The course was offered in the online mode. In the asynchronous meet we used Google Classroom platform and in the synchronous, Google Meet. The instruments for data productions were: interviews, direct questionnaries, logbook, audiovideo records and the reseach-training procedures. The data were analyzed using data triangulation method. The results indicates that the continuing training focused on video productions enables the skills development to deal with Digital Technologies. To develop the former skills for pedagogical uses, according to CIEB’s skills development infrastructure matrix, it was described three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. The ability to make videos is in the intermediate level of CIEB’s matrix. In this level is possible to work BNCC/DRC-MT abilities with elementary school students.
