RESUMO:
The common bean Phaseolus vulgaris is one of the most important grains for food human, as the main source of
protein and essential amino acids, in addition to its high variability genetic, which allows its cultivation in different
climatic regions. Despite standing out among the main world producers, Brazilian productivity is still considered
low, due to to several factors, among them, the occurrence of diseases is the most relevant, being anthracnose,
whose causal agent is the fungus Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, one of the most important diseases of this
culture. This study aims to identify the sources of resistance to anthracnose in beans Common, through the
evaluation of 12 differentiating cultivars for anthracnose in Phaseolus vulgaris L., available at the institution's
germplasm bank, aiming at the improvement of the legume in the State of Mato Grosso, through the identification
and genetic characterization of the variability of isolates of C. lindemuthianum, through the identification of the
pathogen races and inoculation techniques, in order to assist the UNEMAT improvement program, in the indication
and generation of cultivars resistant to disease. Visual assessment of symptoms will be performed using the
severity scale with grades from 1 to 9, where plants with grades from 1 to 3 will be considered resistant,
while plants with symptoms 4 to 9 will be considered susceptible.
